On 10 September 1943 the Battalion was reorganized under T/O & E 6-25 dated 15 July 1943 with no change in designation. On 25 November 1943 the Battalion, was relieved of its assignment to the Replacement and School Command and attachment to the Infantry School and was assigned to the III Corps, Second Army, per Par. 25, Special Orders 276, The Infantry School, 16 November 1943, with station at Camp Gordon, Georgia, by authority of Army Ground Force letter, file 370, 5/250 (R) (1 Oct 1943) GNGCT HQ AGF “Transfer of Certain School Troop Units.” Upon arrival at Camp Gordon the Battalion was attached to the 166th Field Artillery Group.
